Diffuser stopped misting! Can I use thick oils like Sandalwood or Vetiver in a waterless machine?
Hey there! This is the #1 reason waterless nebulizers stop misting.
How to fix and prevent this:
The Alcohol Flush: Remove your oil bottle. Fill an empty bottle with 50ml of 95%-99% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol). Run the machine on a heavy cycle for 15-20 minutes. The alcohol will dissolve the sticky resin and clear the nozzle. []
Check the Formula: For waterless diffusers, always look for oils formulated with evaporative solvents (like DPM) rather than thick raw botanicals. If you must use pure sandalwood, blend it with a thinner carrier/citrus oil to lower the viscosity
