Where is the best place to put a large scent diffuser? / How do I drill into my HVAC duct?

If you are setting it up as a Standalone unit, follow these placement rules:
The Elevation Rule: Place the diffuser 3 to 5 feet (1 - 1.5 meters) off the ground (e.g., on a console table or wall-mounted). Cold-air mist floats down. If you put it directly on the floor, the scent won't travel as far.
Ride the Airflow: Place it near your home's main return air vent or next to a fan. Let your existing HVAC airflow do the heavy lifting of dispersing the micro-droplets.
If you are doing an HVAC Connection (Direct to Ductwork):
Always drill and insert the diffusion tube AFTER the furnace/AC evaporator coil, and BEFORE the duct splits into different rooms (Supply Duct). If you inject it before the coils, the cold condensation will wash the fragrance oil right out of the air.
